Chairman of the Luxury Marketing Council
Alf Nucifora is the Chairman and Founder of The Luxury Marketing Council chapters in San Francisco, Carmel/Monterey, Las Vegas, Napa, Sonoma, Seattle and Vancouver. The Luxury Marketing Council is a global organization representing more than 1000 of the world’s leading consumer luxury brands. He is also the Executive Director and Founder of the Inc Business Owners Council of San Francisco-Silicon Valley (a division of Inc Magazine).
Alf serves as principal of a private marketing consulting firm, having “retired” in 1990 from the responsibilities as chairman of the Southeast office of a $310 million advertising agency.
A native of Brisbane, Australia, Alf entered the advertising and marketing business on the corporate side working for two Fortune 500 companies, first in Australia and then in the United States. He then made the move to the advertising business and later advanced into agency management.
Alf graduated from the University of Queensland with a B.A. Degree. He furthered his formal education in the United States, attending the Harvard Business School, where he earned an M.B.A. Degree.

Executive Director, America’s Cup Properties, Inc.
The 34th America’s Cup is the eleventh straight AC campaign for Tom Ehman. A consummate veteran of international yachting, he has been at the forefront of many of the changes and innovations that have transformed top-level sailing into the modern, professional and more media-friendly sport that it is today.
A former collegiate and North American sailing champion, and winner of the 1976 Championship of Champions, at age 25 he became the youngest-ever Executive Director of the USA’s national sailing association. For the past three campaigns, Tom was Head of External Affairs for ORACLE Racing. He now serves as GGYC Vice Commodore and Managing Director of the GGYC America’s Cup Committee, and is Executive Director of America’s Cup Properties, Inc.

Director of Development, JOHLT Productions
Avelino is currently the Director of Development for JOHLT Productions. A successful player in the television industry for over 15 years, he has produced 100s of hours of quality television in genres of docu-reality, lifestyle, makeover, food, studio, talk, advertising, and radio. Pombo has launched several successful offices across the country and has produced shows in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington DC, Miami, New York and San Francisco. He interfaces directly with TV network executives from BRAVO to HGTV and is responsible for discovering and fostering break out talent to developing, creating and selling original prime time programming.

Architect, Designer & Entrepreneur
Kenneth Wingard has designed home furnishings merchandise for major retailers such as Crate & Barrel, Martha Stewart, Restoration Hardware, and Target. His designs are featured in museum shops and appear in home decor magazines. He’s made personal appearances on the Christopher Lowell Show, for House & Garden Television and is currently the interior designer on the Oprah Winfrey Network’s Home Made Simple.
An architect, designer and entrepreneur, Kenneth Wingard formed his own company in 1997 to produce and market his designs and in 2003 he became a retailer with his first boutique. In 2006 he created a larger, flagship store, Kenneth Wingard San Francisco.
Mr. Wingard grew up in a military family and traveled the world. He went to Princeton University to study architecture. After graduating in 1986, he traveled extensively for the next several years in Europe, Africa, and Asia studying art, sculpture, and architecture. It was during this time in countries such as Italy, India, and Thailand that he developed an appreciation for the skill of the local craftsmen and began to formulate combining those talents with his own design sense.
Mr. Wingard returned to the U.S. and began working for Williams-Sonoma in1989. Eight years later he was the Divisional Director of Pottery Barn designing their assortment as well as being instrumental in the re-launch of the brand. He left Pottery Barn at the end of 1996 and within a year launched his first line of decorative accessories, which included brushed metal vases, bowls, and candlesticks. He later explored other materials such as wood, acrylic, and glass He continues to work with his favorite materials, in a growing number of categories, including apparel and interior design projects from retail stores to vacation homes. Along the way, he has also been commissioned by clients such as W Hotels and Las Vegas casino owner Steve Wynn to design items for their distinctive properties.
ASID California North Invites You To Design Excellence Awards Competition 2012
The Design Excellence Awards competition is open to all ASID members and ASID student members. The awards, which are given to honor excellence in residential, commercial, and product design, will be announced from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., May 9, 2012, at a reservations-only luncheon catered by Perry’s Restaurant in San Francisco Design Center Galleria, 101 Henry Adams Street, San Francisco, CA.
This year, the event’s theme is the America’s Cup and how it’s changing the design of the San Francisco waterfront. A speaker from the America’s Cup organization will give an overview of the exciting transformation that’s now underway for the 2013 race following the awards ceremony.
There will also be an appearance by interior designer Lisa Quinn, host of “Home with Lisa Quinn” on the Live Well HD Network.
