A Primer On Antiques
C. Mariani Antiques hosted our June event, A Primer on Antiques. Buzz Kaplan, Executive Director, shared his knowledge and expertise in their fabulous showroom. Buzz has many credits to his name, including his service as Antiques editor for Decorati Magazine for 3 years. He is also the author of one of the industry’s most respected blogs, THE BUZZ ON ANTIQUES. The evening started with Steve Padelka, Production Manager, leading designers through the workrooms where custom furniture and Antique reproductions are created. With the group seated around a large Renaissance dining table, Buzz in his uniquely entertaining way then led us through the different styles and periods of Antiques and what some of the identifying characteristics are. We walked the showroom floor and looked at examples of furniture which sparked many questions and animated discussion. Designers took away a handbook which will be an excellent reference tool!
